Mandrem Beach
Mandrem, India

Mandrem Beach sits between Arambol and Ashwem on the Pernem coast and is known as one of the most peaceful stretches of sand in North Goa. A small creek runs parallel to the shore, separating the beach from the village, and is crossed by little bamboo and wooden footbridges. The beach is wide, clean and lined with casuarina trees, with resorts and yoga retreats set discreetly behind the dunes. Mandrem has built a reputation as a wellness destination, and many visitors come for yoga and meditation courses during the winter season. The sea here is popular for swimming on calm days, and the evenings bring quiet sunsets rather than parties. Olive Ridley turtles have been recorded nesting along this part of the coast. The beach suits travellers looking for rest rather than nightlife. It is worth visiting for its calm, uncluttered shoreline and the photogenic creek crossings.
