Vagator Beach
Vagator, India

Vagator Beach lies in Bardez just south of the Chapora River, beneath the ruined walls of Chapora Fort. It is known for its red laterite cliffs, black volcanic rocks and coconut palms, which give it one of the most striking settings in North Goa. The main stretch is often called Big Vagator, while a smaller cove to the south is known as Ozran or Little Vagator. Vagator has been a hub for Goa's trance and electronic music scene, with well-known clifftop venues hosting parties during the season. During the day, visitors swim, relax in shacks and climb up to the fort for panoramic views. Sunsets from the cliffs are a major draw. Vagator is also close to Anjuna and the Chapora village, which has a lively cafe street. It is worth the trip for its dramatic scenery and nightlife in a compact setting.
